“Precision Siteworks did a great job with the power raking on my yard. They were very professional throughout the whole process and got the work done exactly as I needed. My front yard looks much better now, and I’m happy with how everything turned out.”

Mt. Juliet

House lots on old rock.

Mt. Juliet is the largest city in Wilson County.

It sits at the west end of the county, between Old Hickory Lake to the north and Percy Priest Lake to the south.

On house lots, the jobs that fit are yards that hold water, slopes that need regrading, utility trenches and wooded edges that need opening up.

Bigger parcels get pads, driveways and clearing.

The ground

Glade rock near the lakes.

The USDA type location for the Gladeville soil series is in Davidson County, two miles south of Percy Priest Dam, not far west of Mt. Juliet.

It is 3 to 12 inches of soil over hard, thin-bedded limestone, with ledges of bare rock.

On the Wilson County side, Couchville Cedar Glade runs along the east boundary of Long Hunter State Park, one of the state natural areas in the Central Basin.

Not every lot is glade rock. Deeper clay soils over limestone, like the Talbott series, are common across the Nashville Basin, and the USDA rates them slow to drain.

What that means for your job

Grade with drainage in mind. On slow clay, a flat spot beside a foundation stays wet. We set the grade with a laser so water has somewhere to go.

Expect rock in trenches. Shallow limestone can turn up in a utility run. We plan the method for it and keep you informed.
