Drainage solutions & erosion control in Lebanon, TN

Standing water, soggy yards, washouts and caving creek banks, fixed with shape, slope and rock.

How we do it

Drainage and erosion problems, corrected.

Standing water, washouts and eroding creek banks come down to how water moves across a property.

Left uncorrected, each storm takes a little more ground.

We evaluate the site and correct it with grading, swales, ditches or rock, as conditions call for.

The result is a property that handles heavy rain and holds its ground.

Before & after

Project results.

Front yard flooded in a heavy rain, water pooled between the gravel drive and a white board fence
Before
The same front yard after regrading: the low spot cut and filled to a smooth, even grade between the lawn, gravel drive and white board fence
After

Standing water to positive drainage

A berm by the ditch trapped the water. We cut it down, filled the lows with it and regraded to drain.

After

Creek bank riprap

Our process

Identify the cause, correct it.

  1. Evaluate the water

We identify where water comes from, where it collects and where it should go.

  2. Define the scope

You receive a clear plan for the grading, drainage or rock work the site needs.

  3. Complete the work

We regrade, cut swales or ditches and place rock as the scope calls for.

  4. Final review

The finished work is checked and reviewed with you.

Local ground

Clay, storms and creek banks

Middle Tennessee clay holds water at the surface, and storms deliver a lot of it at once.

Work inside a stream channel can require a state permit, so we address that before work begins.

Erosion control: a rock-lined channel carrying runoff to the creek

Runoff control: rock-lined drive edge and a stabilized slope

Questions

Drainage questions.

Why is water standing by my house?

Often the ground slopes toward the house or flattens out beside it.

We evaluate the grade and correct it so water moves away.

What is riprap?

Large, angular rock placed along a bank or channel.

It absorbs the force of moving water so the soil behind it stays in place.

Can you stop erosion along a creek?

Yes. Bank shaping and riprap are a core part of our erosion control work.

Any permit requirements are addressed before we start.
